Helping founder of open source company bootstrap business in the online collaboration/project management space (Basecamp+Yammer combination). Doing everything from mobile client development (iOS, Android/PhoneGap) light Ruby/Rails bug fixing, and data mining to incorporations, merchant account setup, (Quickbooks) accounting and legal trademark negotiations.

Feature architecture, design and development for online community website: rich text editor implementation (FCKeditor), jQuery integration, virtualization environment (Xen) provisioning and automation. Amazon Web Services EC2 implementation (prior to Xen solution) and CloudFront prototype for distribution of desktop virtualization images to students all over the globe. Telecommuted from Spain for 10 months while completing the UC Berkeley part-time MBA exchange program at ESADE in Barcelona.

What is the most important "social graph" of all? The one comprised of those invited to your wedding! Built prototype for a family-centric social network, with the hopes of bootstrapping it as a business around the WordPress/BuddyPress ecosystem. Built Twitter-based messaging circle for own wedding guests and placeholder Facebook application for weddings being hosted. Hosted wedding sites for self and friends (3) and started working on monetization through Amazon.com affiliate marketing of registry gifts. Project on hold due to relocation to/from Spain.

Complete technical management resposibilities over development, systems and quality teams (6-9 people, global) for the Think.com & ThinkQuest.org programs. Online services group with small-to-medium size membership (approx. 2M accounts) and high-visibility online competition. Areas of responsibility included technical direction, data center migration, budgeting ($1.9M/year), performance evaluation, team development and some individual contributor tasks as time permitted.

Netscape/Gecko embedding team. In charge of a group of 6-9 developers working towards facilitating the embedding of Netscape's Gecko rendering engine inside AOL products as well as other Open Source projects. Areas of responsibility included ActiveX, footprint and API reviews. Maintained a Gecko rendering engine version of the AOL client, as well as other internal AOL products that never saw release.

Netscape Messaging Server team. Various responsibilities included delivery of Messaging Server 6.1, planning and overseeing the work of 8-11 engineers, and some coding. Product integration and UI convergence roadmap specification. Main interface point with external consulting firm onsite helping AOL SBS deliver the next generation of common server UIs across Messaging, Calendar and Address Book servers.

Development Manager for the BuyerXpert product. Areas of responsibility included Catalog, Supplier Relationship Management & Release Engineering of the application leading a group of 11 developers. Product versions 4.0 released in Nov. 2000, and 4.1 in Feb. 2001. Coordinated Service Pack release work while participating in the design of 5.0 release and future Web services-based release (Sun ONE/.NET)

Development Manager for BuyerXpert 3.01 product release. Called upon to deliver this emergency point release in both a pre-release to a single deployed customer, as well as in General Availability form later on. In charge of two groups of 6-8 people each, with respective development managers.

Development Manager for the SellerXpert 4.0 product. Areas of responsibility included Catalog and Membership Management of the application for a group of 6 developers.

Development Manager for MerchantXpert 2.5/SellerXpert 2.6 products. Full development responsibility over delivery of these two releases.

PublishingXpert Product Group. Responsible for development of the next generation full-Java Admin UI for the PublishingXpert and MerchantXpert products. Design and implementation of a certificate-based authentication framework for the line of Electronic Commerce products.

Development of a browser-based (Java/JavaScript/HTML) administrative UI that shipped with v2.0 of the product. Called on occasion to travel for Customer training & pre-sales trips.

Porting of the PublishingXpert v1.5.x product codebase to IRIX & AIX (separate RTMs.) Early development of MerchantXpert v2.0.

Re-engineered an internal system for the Government Group to take advantage of the Oracle7 RDBMS and new associated client/server development tools. Design of an OLAP system to allow for analysis of historical sales data.
